Come November 1st I will be pulling up my new red socks as I set to run 65km throughout the month to raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF).
The Respiratory Medicine team at The Alfred are banding together with Cystic Fibrosis Community Care - Victoria to raise funds for much-needed equipment, program delivery, and support services for CF patients, some of the bravest and most incredible people I have been privileged to meet.
CF is a genetic disorder that has major impact on the respiratory system and digestive system, which has many implications on their health.
People living with CF have frequent admissions to hospital from a very young age, and battle through this with incredible fortitude. There is no cure for CF and the current life-expectancy is only until their late 30s. So let’s SOCKIT2CF together and raise much needed funds.
