Monkey Baa Theatre Company is a theatre company for all children. Your donation will help ensure all young people can enjoy our performances, no matter their abilities.

At home in our venue the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre, we embrace a multi-disability perspective and our programming caters for patrons with physical and intellectual disability, cognitive and learning disability and those with mental health challenges. We are already industry leaders, but we want to do more.

Please support Monkey Baa to provide access to more young people than ever before by offering Auslan Interpretation, Social Stories for young people on the Autism spectrum and Relaxed Performances for those who require sensory and learning support. Our venue needs better facilities for adults and children who are Deaf and hard of hearing as well as braille and way-finding support.

One in ten young people live with some form of disability. Under the UN convention, every child has the right to access theatre and cultural experiences and their local theatre is theirs as much as any adult. Further, “children who have any kind of disability have the right to special care and support, as well as all the rights in the Convention, so that they can live full and independent lives.”
