Community Action Services Australia (CASA) Inc. was established in 2008 to help the community through different programs, services and workshops. Since 2013, we've been providing an essential food relief service to the local community through Food Hampers.
Due to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19, many people have lost their jobs so there is a great need for social welfare. CASA will continue to feed people and help them financially in this time of hardship.
CASA would like to set up an emergency relief program called ‘Help Now’, to assist people in our community. This initiative will provide immediate basic needs in times of financial strife, generally offered in the form of material and financial aid.
Unfortunately, CASA does not have government funding, which is limited and difficult to obtain. We heavily rely on the generosity of our community and local businesses to keep our programs alive, such as our food hamper program, which helps many families with basic needs during financial hardship.
We would appreciate you partnering with us to ensure the success of our new Help Now emergency relief program. This initiative will provide support in the following areas:
· Food, chemist or petrol vouchers.
· Food hampers.
· Part-payment of utility bills.
· In some cases, advocacy with re-payments on existing debts.
Help Now also aims to prevent future hardship by referring people to appropriate financial and social support services.
